NONFICTION

When our parents were kids and got bored, our grandparents would say, “Go read the dictionary!” They did and look where they are now. One should never underestimate the pleasure to be found flipping through a dictionary, an encyclopedia, or an old science book.

Nothing To Do…Or Not

Hello folks, Georgia here, as always!

Today was supposed to be horrible, but I said supposed! I went sledding with Grace, my babysitter. I would’ve gone with Esme, my bff, but who wants to bring a sled as tall as themselves on the subway?! (No offense Ez.) I thought I would be stuck inside ALL DAY but then I remembered Grace and I had planned to go sledding! We had the best time of our lives! I hadn’t gone sledding in years — I was so scared when it was actually time to go down the hill. Grace and I almost crashed once. But, I have to admit, I liked it even though I kept screaming at Grace, “You are nuts!”. I was so tired at the end of our little excursion! Towards the end of our little trip I was so tired I would give anything to sit on the couch, drinking some hot coco, reading my favorite book, Ruby Redfort:Look Into my eyes by Lauren Child(You all have to read it, it’s soooo goood!) I know, I’m very bad with the details. Right now I’m writing, and boy, I have been waiting for a chance to do this for a while! Sledding was fun, but I am pooped! Hope you all had a day as fun as mine was!

Adios Chicos!

Special thanks to my editor/mom Stephanie Manes

My Nutty Life’s Travel To Rome

A PIc From My Trip To Rome Last Year
A PIc From My Trip To Rome Last Year

Howdy partner! Today I’m going to tell you of my travels to ancient lands (Cue Bollywood music)… welcome to my travel diary. Last Christmas I went to Rome! I drank lots of caffeine and ate lots of pasta! Rome was the thing that started my interest in architecture. Part of the events that led to my large interest in food-(I said part Esme, part!(Esme is my bff who LOVES FOOD!))-now what was I saying, oh yes, Rome sparked my current love of food. Rome also sparked my love of Da Vinci who was a painter/inventor to you who have no idea who he was. Rome also made me a lover of 400-600 year old art. (Oh don’t judge, we’ve all got obsessions, you just have soccer and I have Renaissance period art.) Another reason I loved Rome was the food, SOOOO GOOOD!!!!Rome got me interested in the time of ancient Rome and also the entire Renaissance period itself. Those are some reasons that prove I LOVE ROME!!!!! Did I mention the food?
